Darjeeling Tea, April 2009.
I love tea not black tea but milky sweet tea. I have tried several varieties of tea – green tea, lemon tea – black, ginger lemon black tea, plain black tea and have disliked it.
Yesterday I had a splitting headache and it was raining, real bad and we were out of milk. I made several rounds to the kitchen but did not want to go out and get some milk. My options were very limited and had to settle for black tea. Thankfully my aunt dropped by and she made the best ginger lemon tea I have ever had!
Maybe this recipe is common but I have been deprived of it so here it is:
1/2 inch Ginger crushed
1 tsp Lemon juice
3 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Tea powder
1 cup (small) Water
Mix all the ingredients, bring to a boil. Remember don’t boil for long, it makes the tea bitter.
Hot, fresh and fragrant tea is ready!
