Daily Prompt: Life Without Computers!

Your life without a computer: what does it look like?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us WITHOUT.

****

Without a computer, I would need to find a new profession!

I would venture outside more and get some fresh air, meet people and get more photographs.

Photographs which are developed in the dark room and not digitally. Overexposed photos and other goof ups. Oh, dear! I am bad with the digital camera, a manual one would be a disaster.

It will be like the old days, watching movies in the theater or getting video cassettes and watching them on television, listening to music on a Walkman. No reviews to tell us which is the good stuff.

I would miss Google the most. All that information that is easily available to us through these search engines is amazing. Imagine looking for that in magazines, newspapers and books. Saving cut outs of articles we may need. Oh no, not again.

The convenience of booking travel tickets, shopping, even paying bills online, gone 😦

Yet, it would bring us close to people around us, help value relationships. Save us from wasting time on social networking sites.

It would be a nice change for a while but I think I would want my computer eventually.

Sorry, I cannot part with it.

Back To School

Daily Prompt: Back to School

If you could take a break from your life and go back to school to master a subject, what would it be?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us MASTERY.

It’s got to be geography, I am terrible at it. I am also bad at Math but I don’t want to study it anymore.

Hmm, why geography? I can never confidently tell which city is in which country..that is bad. I have a baby girl now and when she asks me any such question I don’t want to Google the answer. That’s not the only reason, it’s plain embarrassing.

I have been making some efforts to fix this. Part of it includes reading travel blogs:)

Second option : Makeup – I want to learn it professionally. It’s my hobby maybe I can make it my profession.

Five Sentence Fiction – Locked

I am locked inside my head, going in circles.

One thought has enslaved me, overpowered my mind so I cannot think anything else.

Little distractions help me for some time, my hobbies they are my friends, they console me.

I am waiting for a breakthrough, a solution, I think it is in my head, it is locked too, with me, hiding in some dark corner.

What will I have to do to reveal it?

locked

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.

The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

This week: LOCKED

Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara Review

Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara

I have been using the Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara, waterproof one. I love the volume it gives to the lashes but at the same time it looked like I have mascara on. More than two coats of the colossal mascara and it would clump. It is a disaster when I have to remove it.  Some of the mascara always remains on my lashes despite cleaning. I have a bi-phased remover from Chambor so I don’t think it is a remover issue.

I was in a desperate need of a new one and I was sure I would get a non waterproof mascara.

I got the Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara and I simply love it!

It has a curved brush which helps me curl the lashes just a bit. It lifts the lashes as you turn the brush. However I prefer using the lash curler before using the mascara.

It doesn’t make the lashes hard to touch (maybe because its washable).

It has not clumped on me at all, Yippee!

Most of all it doesn’t look overdone so I can wear it more often.

It’s not waterproof so very easy to clean. My eyelashes will thank me 🙂

Downside:

Now the downside is that you have to be careful while using the brush especially with the lower lashes, it tends to touch the skin.  I don’t use mascara on the lower lash line so this one does not matter to me.

Beware the mascara not dry fast at all. Do not  flutter your eyelashes or close your eyes after you are done, it will transfer to somewhere else on the eye.

Not waterproof therefore cannot wear it in the rains! I haven’t really tried this though.

I would recommend this mascara because it is not expensive ( Rs. 250) and does a good job.

Frustated Elevators

Not unnaturally, many elevators imbued with intelligence and precognition became terribly frustrated with the mindless business of going up and down, up and down, experimented briefly with the notion of going sideways, as a sort of existential protest, demanded participation in the decision-making process and finally took to squatting in basements sulking.”

Ginger Lemon Tea Recipe

Image

Darjeeling Tea, April 2009.

I love tea not black tea but milky sweet tea. I have tried several varieties of tea – green tea, lemon tea – black, ginger lemon black tea, plain black tea and have disliked it.

Yesterday I had a splitting headache and it was raining, real bad and we were out of milk. I made several rounds to the kitchen but did not want to go out and get some milk. My options were very limited and had to settle for black tea. Thankfully my aunt dropped by and she made the best ginger lemon tea I have ever had!

Maybe this recipe is common but I have been deprived of it so here it is:

1/2 inch Ginger crushed

1 tsp Lemon juice

3 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Tea powder

1 cup (small) Water

Mix all the ingredients, bring to a boil. Remember don’t boil for long, it makes the tea bitter.

Hot, fresh and fragrant tea is ready!
